We will begin by explaining the categorical trace construction, and show how it can be used to go down one categorical level. Then, we will look at the connections between (categorical) geometric Langlands and (classical) function field arithmetic Langlands. Time permitting, we may also talk about other applications of geometric Langlands towards various areas of mathematics.
