Ben Williams obtained a PhD in Mathematics from Stanford University (2010) and was a postdoc at the University of Southern California (2010-2013), and then a Postdoctoral Fellow at UBC (2013-2015). In 2015, he became an Assistant Professor at UBC.

His research interests include algebraic topology, and in particular, the application of algebraic topology in algebra and algebraic geometry.
