UBC Mathematics Postdoctoral Fellow Hossein Rahmani is the recipient of a 2024 - 2025 Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship. The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship program provides funding for postdoctoral fellows who positively contribute to Canada's economic, social, and research-based projects. Dr. Rahmani was awarded this prize in response to his project titled "Combined AI and Network Modeling of Non-Newtonian Flows in Porous Media".

Dr. Rahmani recieved his PhD from Université Laval in 2023. His area of research is civil and mechanical engineering (fluid mechanics).
