Keegan Boyle and Hannah Keese Awarded Postdoc Teaching Prize

Keegan Boyle and Hannah Keese have been awarded a 2024 Postdoc Teaching Prize.

Keegan Boyle taught MATH 220 as well as small classes in MATH 101. His MATH 220 students found his teaching especially effective and impactful. Every one of his many nominations from that course emphasized his kindness and connection with students, using phrases like "friendly demeanour", "constant patience" and "supportive environment". One student wrote: "I feel like he personally explained every little detail to me one on one, except that he did that for every person in that class."

Hannah Keese taught MATH 200 and MATH 221 using worksheets and a curriculum of her own design. Her students were emphatic in their praise of her "innovative approaches that engage students at all levels", including "great homework which give us logical insight into the topics being taught". One student summarized her experience by writing: "It is extremely apparent that Hannah cares deeply about all of her students and is willing to go the extra mile to help them succeed. As a math major, her classes have played a major role in confirming that this is the program for me.”

Congratulations to both Keegan and Hannah!
