In a competition comprising 2,975 students from 427 institutions from both US and Canada, two of our students, Ray Ng and Arvin Sahami scored tied for the 136th place in the competition (i.e., top 5% of all students in the competition), which is an excellent performance! Overall, there were 25 students from UBC taking part in the competition, and besides Ray and Arvin, we had 3 other students scoring in the top 500: Eugene Chau and Oakley Edens scored in the top 12% of all competitors, while Siyang Lin scored in the top 17% of all students taking the Putnam exam.
