UBC Mathematics Welcomes Chadi Saad-Roy as an Assistant Professor

This fall, Dr. Chadi Saad-Roy joins UBC Mathematics as an Assistant Professor, jointly appointed in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology!

Dr. Saad-Roy comes to UBC from the Miller Institute for Basic Research in Science at UC Berkeley, where he was a Miller Research Fellow. His research focuses on infectious disease dynamics, using mathematical models to study immuno-epidemiology, behavioral-epidemiological dynamics, and pathogen eco-evolutionary dynamics.

Dr. Saad-Roy received his Ph.D. in Quantitative and Computational Biology from Princeton University in 2022. He is also no stranger to British Columbia—he earned his B.Sc. in Mathematics and Statistics with a minor in Biology from the University of Victoria, where he was awarded the Jubilee Medal for Science.
