Abstract:
Interdisciplinary education can provide opportunities for students to experience familiar disciplines through new perspectives, revealing connections that can enrich their understanding of both subjects. This talk presents a first-year course developed collaboratively at the American University of Paris that creatively explores intersections between mathematics and English literature. We will detail our approach to course design, specific pedagogical objectives, curriculum highlights, student reflections, and discuss our goal for students to discover mathematics as a creative endeavour and literature as a structured logical system.
