Math symbols reality check: the following display φiφjt = δi,j     (1 ≤ i, j ≤ n) is supposed to look like the statement that n vectors (called phi) form an orthonormal system, or what TeX would produce from the following command: \phi_i\phi_j^t = \delta_{i,j} \quad (1\le i,j\le n)
