This is the page for information specific to section 102. The course-wide website contains details on the textbook, homework, midterms and finals, course objectives and policies and the like.

- Classes: TTh 8:00-9:30, MATH 100
- See the Lecture-by-lecture schedule for pre-class reading information, worksheets and more.
- Final grades will be computed as follows: (see also discussion of scaling on the cousre-wide page)
- (10%) online homework (WeBWorK)
- (20%) Midterm 1
- (20%) Midterm 2
- (50%) Final exam

- The Math Learning Centre is open Monday through Friday.
- Here are some Common Errors in Undergraduate Mathematics. Avoiding these common pitfalls will improve your grade measurably.
- Here are notes on geometry and trigonometry describing what we expect you to know (memorize) or be able to derive during exams. The notes also include things you don't need to know but may find interesting.

- The final exam will be held on Friday, December 5th between 15:30-18:00. Our section is divided between Room1 and Room2 of the Room2 of the Woodward building. Make sure to check which room you need to go to.
- I will hold special office hours next week: Monday, 10:00-12:00, Tuesday 13:00-15:00, Wednesday 10:00-12:00.

- The midterm will be held in-class on Tuesday, November 4th. It will cover the material of weeks 4-7, up to the end of the discussion of Taylor series on Oct 23. Of course, we will use also the techniques of weeks 1-3, especially techniques of differentiation.
- Here's a practice midterm and its solutions. It is best to give yourself 45 minutes and work through the whole practice midterm to get used to the required pace.
- See the midterm 1 information for additional sources of practice material.
- For example, here are my 2010
sample midterm
(solutions) and
midterm
(solutions).
WARNING: these are hard; also maxima and minima are not included in midterm 2 this year.

- For example, here are my 2010
sample midterm
(solutions) and

(solutions).
- Exams and solutions for all sections are now posted.

- The midterm will be held in-class on Tuesday, September 30th. It will cover the material of weeks 1-3 (see the table below).
- Here's a practice midterm and its solutions. It is best to give yourself 45 minutes and work through the whole practice midterm to get used to the required pace; don't look at the solutions until you are done.
- For further exam-style problems try: UBC Math Exam Wiki, past final exams in Math 100/180,102,104/184, and search for past midterms
in this course.
- Here are my 2010
sample midterm
(solutions) and
midterm
(solutions).
WARNING: format, difficulty and material change somewhat from year to year (for example, that year's midterm included the chain rule, and turned out hard).
