Lattice Pathes as Interfacial phase boundaries: some history and a
new solution

We review the idea of using lattice paths as models of phase
boundaries rather than as models of polymers. We also present the
solution of a particular model that has demonstrated some novel
mathematical features. Additionally this model may describe the steady
state of a non-equilibrium model of molecular motors.
