Automorphic Forms and Ideal Class Groups

Ideal class groups play a crucial role in the study of integer solutions of diophantine equations. We will explain such connections, and describe some recent advances on these problems obtained by combining techniques from algebraic number theory with the theory of automorphic forms.

*Dr. Wong is a candidate for a position in our department. All faculty are urged to attend this lecture.

Refreshments will be served in Math Annex Room 1115, 3:15 p.m.
