Lagrangian Cycles and Volume
In this talk we will introduce the constrained variational
problem of minimizing volume among lagrangian cycles representing
a homology class and describe the relevance of this problem to
some current problems in Kaehler geometry. We will outline the
results in the two dimensional case and, in particular, describe
the current state of our understanding of singularities.
Refreshments will be served at 2:45 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge,
Math Annex (Room 1115).
