Abstract: Coupled nonlinear Schroedinger equations arise in a number of ways in fibre optics and in describing optical devices. A number of explicit exact solutions are known. Many are akin to the soliton solutions of the usual NLS equation. Many are examples of similarity solutions.

Some analytic and numerical properties of such solutions, commonly known as vector solitons will be described, particularly their collision properties for a symmetrically coupled pair of equations.
