Toric manifolds (and geodesic flows)

Toric manifolds are popular objects in algebraic and symplectic geometry. More recently topological toric manifolds found applications in algebraic topology and combinatorics. It turns out that in studying completely integrable systems on punctured cotangent bundles such as geodesic flows it is useful to study contact toric manifolds. We will discuss the classification of contact toric manifolds and some applications of contact toric manifolds to geodesic flows.

Refreshments will be served at 2:45 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge, Math Annex (Room 1115).
