Our public Unix workstation support remote logins using ssh (secure shell). You ought to be able to find various free ssh applications on the Internet (e.g. PuTTY). Ssh is usually installed on most versions of Unix so additional software is rarely required.

A word of caution: if you use a computer that you do not know the state of (i.e. you are unsure of the how secure the machine is or how well the machine has been locked down), then you run the risk of divulging your password if viruses/malware/keystrokers are present.
