UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [Borrowing Equipment]

Question: Can I borrow the laptop/projector/AV equipment/etc.?
Author: Rachel Kuske, Joseph Tam
Date: June 8, 2010

It depends on the type of equipment you are trying to borrow.

Audio-visual equipment such as screens, overhead projectors and classroom projectors are the property of Classroom Services and cannot be lent out or rented by the Department for uses outside our building. Unauthorized removal will be considered theft.

Laptops and portable LCD projectors owned by the department are typically signed out on an hourly basis, and in some cases may be signed out for one day. They are to be used only for Department business (lectures, seminar etc.). and must be used on the UBC campus for insurance purposes. Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Head of the Department. You can book it online using our Booking System.
