Resources Drop-in help is available for all first-year students at the Math Learning Centre (MLC) in LSK 100. The MLC is open from 9:00 to 7:00 every weekday but Friday, when it is open from 9:00 to 4:00. This term we will be using Piazza for class discussion. The system is highly catered to getting you help fast and efficiently from classmates, the TA, and myself. Rather than emailing questions to the teaching staff, I encourage you to post your questions on Piazza. If you have any problems or feedback for the developers, email team@piazza.com. I have a Mathematica applet demonstrating volumes of revolution which can be found here. You’ll need to download the free CDF player in order to use it. Notice I did not include p-series or geometric series, both of which are obviously things you should know.

If a quiz is missed for a documented medical or other reason, it will be ignored, with other quizzes reweighted to compensate for the missed quiz. In the case of a missed midterm, permission to write a makeup midterm or reweighting of other course components may be granted in the following two circumstances: (a) prior notice of a valid conflict or absence on the scheduled date; or (b) notification to the instructor within 72 hours of absence due to medical condition. Original written documentation, for example a doctor’s note or letter from a coach, is required in all cases; otherwise, a score of 0 will be assigned for the missed quiz or midterm.
