about me

My name is Daniel, I was born in 1982 in São Paulo, Brazil, and currently live in Vancouver, Canada. I am a post-doctoral fellow in the Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia.

My domain of research is Probability Theory and most of my research has been in Interacting Particle Systems. I have included some details about my research in the research section of the site.

I lived most of my life in São Paulo, but started studying Mathematics at IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, in 2005. I have great affinity with this institute and still feel as a member of it. I moved to Switzerland in 2007 and did my PhD in Lausanne, at the EPFL. My advisor was Prof. Thomas Mountford. In 2011 I moved to the beautiful city of Vancouver, and I have been greatly enjoying life here. Other than Mathematics, some of my other passions include: reading all forms of Literature, traveling in a bicycle and running long distances.
