Daniel Valesin

I am a post-doctoral fellow in the Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia. My domain of research is Probability Theory and most of my research has been in Interacting Particle Systems.

I was born in 1982 in São Paulo, Brazil, and lived most of my life there. I started studying Mathematics at IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, in 2005. I moved to Switzerland in 2007 and did my PhD in Lausanne, at the EPFL. My advisor was Prof. Thomas Mountford. In 2011 I moved to the beautiful city of Vancouver. Other than Mathematics, some of my passions include: reading all forms of Literature, traveling by bicycle and running long distances.
