Erratum to spfinal

I made an error in the solution to problem 1(b) of the practice final 
exam. 

This was pointed out to me by Cathleen Childs. Thank you!


Answer:

(3-1)/2 = 1 = a e, the distance between either focus and the center.

Together with e = 2,
  
   a = 1/2, and b= a sqrt(e^2-1)  = sqrt(3)/2.

The correct equation for the hyperbola is

   4(x-2)^2  + 4y^2 /3  = 1.
