Research
My
research interests are mainly algebra and algebraic geometry. More
specifically, I am interested in the theory of algebraic groups,
invariant theory, Galois cohomology and essential dimension. I work
under the supervision of Prof.
Zinovy Reichstein.
I have also done some research in other areas of mathematics. My
masters' thesis at the University of Havana was focused on the
solvability of transcendental equations in commutative C*-algebras.
Here is a copy of my thesis: pdf
(in Spanish).

Teaching
I am currently a teaching assistant in the Department of Mathematics at
UBC. My typical duties include drop-in tutoring, marking assignments ,
exam invigilations and teaching my own section of a course. Before
that, I was an instructor of mathematics
at the University of Havana for two years.
Here is a link to the courses I am currently teaching.
