### Textbook and resources

The lecture notes in this class will largely be based on

these notes, written by Nuno Freitas and Adela Gherga.
As a supplement, I would recommend Kenneth Rosen's excellent textbook

*Elementary Number Theory*. The current edition is the sixth; feel free to follow along with an earlier edition of the book. Optional, but recommended, homework problems from Rosen will be posted along with graded homework assignments (see the

Homework page).

Check back here for links to helpful resources, updated throughout the semester.

### Math exams wiki

The

UBC Math Exam Resources Wiki contains a few old final exams, with hints and solutions for some of the problems. Taking old exams in exam-like conditions (set a timer, turn off your phone, no notes, etc.) are a great way to prepare for upcoming midterms and the final.

### Course pages from previous terms

Here is an incomplete list of old MATH 312 course pages. They may contain useful materials, including past midterm exams and practice sets. WARNING: I have not read through these pages completely, and I cannot guarantee that they are typo-free or that the course syllabus is the same.
