- You will be given a statement and asked to prove it, or you will be given a claim and asked to prove it if it's true or provide a counterexample if it's false;
- You will be asked to perform a computation based on techniques discussed in class.

- The final exam is comprehensive. It will be roughly twice as long as a midterm exam, but you'll have three times as long to work on it (150 minutes).
- The format of the questions on the final exam will be the same as on the midterm, with the possible addition of true/false questions and/or multiple choice questions. For practice true/false questions, see this past final, for example.
- See the Textbook & Resources page for links to the UBC Math Exam Resources Wiki and to course websites from previous terms, some of which contain old exams and practice sets.
- See also the official UBC Math Department Past Exams page, which contains several past MATH 312 finals. Note that the course syllabus varies from year to year; in particular, old finals may cover topics we didn't cover. Still, these exams will serve as good practice final exams.
- It is your responsibility to be familiar with UBC's policies on Student Conduct during Examinations. In particular, you MUST bring your UBC ID card to the final exam. Use of electronic devices, including smart watches, will be strictly prohibited; you will be asked to put such items in a closed bag for the duration of the exam.
- No one will be permitted to enter the exam room after 4:00pm. No one will be permitted to leave the exam room from 3:30pm to 4:00pm, and from 5:50pm to 6:00pm.
- Please ask me for clarification of any exam policies.
