Exams in this course will consist of two broad categories of problems:
- You will be given a statement and asked to prove it, or you will be given a claim and asked to prove it if it's true or provide a counterexample if it's false;
- You will be asked to perform a computation based on techniques discussed in class.
In particular, you should be familiar with what constitutes a valid, well-written proof. While proofs will not be graded on style
, per se, you should strive to write proofs as clearly as you can.
More information about exams will be provided as they draw near.
