Review The course material of MATH 105 is based on the material in MATH 104. Please go through the review document and refresh your knowledge about functions and differential calculus. We do not review any of the material in class.

Lecture Notes
I will provide lectures notes for this section. They can be found here. Please inform me about typos. Usually, the notes contain a bit more information than the lecture. Use them for preparing midterms, finals and your homework assignments.
  • Additional problems regarding probability can be found here. It i crucial for your understanding to do as much examples as possible. Use these resources to improve!
  • Probability Notes. This is a PDF version of the probability online resource.
  • Review of trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions. In particular helpful for Webwork assignment 6.

Grading Schemes
Your final grade is computed out of the partial grades of the following course components:
  • Final Exam: 50%

The final exam will be written Wednesday, April 11 at 8:30 AM

  • 2 Midterms: each 15%. You are allowed to miss one midterm. Its weight will be transferred to the final examination. For more information see the common web page

    Midterm 1: Friday, February 3
    Midterm 2: Friday, March 16

  • Webwork: 10%

  • Other homework: 10%

Webwork
Part of your homework will be weekly assignments on Webwork. Assignments usually are accessible on Friday afternoon and are due to Friday afternoon of the following week.

Other Homework
The component "other homework", worth 10% of your final grade, is divided into 3 parts:
  • Weekly Quizzes. Every Monday 8 AM we write a short quiz (around 10 minutes) about things we covered in the week before. Be on time!

    Solutions: Quiz 1, Quiz 2, Quiz 3, Quiz 4, Quiz 5, Quiz 6, Quiz 7

  • Clickers: Here and there I try to use Clickers (where it makes sense). Please register your Clicker on Vista.

  • Hand-in Homework: Before midterms you are supposed to hand-in a special homework assignment. Together with Webwork, this is a good option to prepare for the midterm.

Homework 2: due to Wednesday March 14 after the lecture.

    Solutions: Homework 1
