Notes: Some people may want to learn and use LaTex to prepare assignments and other documents. Topics: 4.3, 4.6, Chapter 5, Chapter 8, 9.1-9.5 Homework Set 8 will not be collected. But it is very important to finish Set 4 for preparation of the exam and its solutions will be given before the exam. Workshop on March 11 in class. Workshop and Practice Problems, Solutions Midterm 2 solution Midterm Exam 1: Midterm1 solutions: Solutions. Midterm 1 will be on February 6 (Thursday) in class, closebook. Duration: 50 minutes. Topics: the exam covers Chapters 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.1, 4.2, 4.4, 4.5. Homework Set 4 will not be collected. But it is very important to finish Set 4 for preparation of the exam and its solutions will be given before the exam. Workshop on February 4 in class. Solutions Practice midterm Practice. I make no claims that our exam will look like this one, but it should be a useful study aid. University policy on Student Discipline, including policies on academic dishonesty and non-academic misconduct. The penalty for cheating is more severe than most people may think.
