The exam covers: sections 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 (Mechanical vabrations), 6.1-6.4, 7.1, 7.4, 7.5.
The table of Laplace transforms on page 317 in textbook will be given.
Practice problems and solutions: Practice problems The practice problems are useful for understanding the course material and preparing for the exam, but they may not be viewed as sample problems for the upcoming exam.

1st Midterm Exam (February 4, 2013, Monday):
Midterm exam solution: Solution.
The exam covers Chapter 1, Chapter 2 (excludes 2.7, 2.9) and
Section 3.1 - Section 3.4. For modeling with 1st order equations, you only need to know the ones discussed in class: mixing, escape velocity, population dynamics.
The exam will be in class, close book, no calculators or formula sheets.

HW4 will be collected and solution will be posted on this Friday,
so you may keep a copy for preparing for the exam.
I will hold office hours on Friday (February 1st): 4pm-5pm.
