MATH 180 Sction 201 Homework

At least 2/3 of the questions on the midterm and final exams will be similar to homework problems, so doing them is essential in order to do well in the course. There are two types of homework problems, WebAssign Assignments and Suggested Problems from the text as detailed below. The biweekly quizzes will be based on both types of homework problems.

WebAssign Assignments: Weekly homework assignments using the WebAssign online homework system will be posted one week before their due date. You will need to use a Web browser to access these assignments and submit your answers. You must submit your answers before the due date, which will usually be 9 p.m. on Mondays, commencing Jan. 14. Necessary material will be covered in class well before the assignment is due. It is strongly recommended that you work on these assignments well in advance of the due date. Questions are randomized, so different students will receive different versions of the problems. To access your WebAssign assignments, click here. At your first login, you will need to create an account by clicking “I have a class key” at the bottom of the login page and entering the class key that was sent to you by email or given in class.

Suggested Problems: Additional problems from the text will be posted below. These problems are mostly odd-numbered problems from the text. Answers to the odd-numbered problems are given in the back of the text, and solutions to these problems are in the Student Solutions Manual, which is included with the text in the package sold by the UBC Bookstore. These problems are not collected.
