MATH 101, Winter 2013 Integral Calculus
with Applications to Physical Sciences and Engineering
TOPICS AND FORMULAS
Students are responsible for all topics included in this years
course outline. Note the exclusions
for some sections (for example, hyperbolic sinh and cosh functions
are not included). All of the topics covered in the course are
contained within the relevant sections of the textbook. In addition,
note the following:
- in §5.2, students are not responsible for memorizing
formulas 5, 6, and 7 (etc.) on p. 374 (if such a formula is required
to do a question on an exam it will be given);
- in §7.2, students are not responsible for the boxed
material in the middle of p. 476;
- in §7.5, students are not responsible for formulas 15,
16, 19, or 20 on p. 495;
- in §7.7, students are not responsible for memorizing
the error-bound formulas (if such a formula is required to do
a question on an exam, it will be given);
- in §8.3, students are not responsible for moments for
a system of n particles;
- in §9.3, students are not responsible for memorizing
Toricellis Law (if this law is required to do
a question on an exam, it will be stated);
- in §11.10, students are not responsible for memorizing Taylors Inequality (if this inequality is required to do a question on an exam, it will be stated);
- in §11.10, students are not responsible for the last
formula in Table 1 on p. 762
