SCIENCE ONE
m a t h e m a t i c s

This is one of two mathematics webpages for Science One. The other is maintained by Wayne Nagata, the other Science One faculty member from the Mathematics Department. You should check this page and Wayne's, not the page on Connect, for assignments, grades and announcements. The main Science One page is here, and the Science One Connect page may be accessed through UBC's Connect page.

I will post review problems for the modules I teach here: Limits and continuity, Implicit differentiation, Curve sketching, Optimization and related rates, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, Volumes, Sequences and series.

Sketches of proofs of the Boundedness Theorem and the Extreme Value Theorem are here. Taylor's Remainder Theorem is proven here.

Drop-in help is available for all first-year students at the Math Learning Centre (MLC) in LSK 100. The MLC is open from 9:00 to 7:00 every weekday but Friday, when it is open from 9:00 to 4:00. During the exam period, the MLC is open from 9:00 to 9:00 every weekday.
