Taxi (cab) from the airport to Walter Gage costs $25-30
Bus costs $3.75/trip. Check with the tourist info desk at the airport for details.


Accommodation

  1. Students who have received a letter of support containing the phrase
    Accommodation will be arranged for you in UBC's Walter Gage Residence   and who are planning to arrive on June 7 and leave on July 4 will in due course receive information about housing from Ken Leung.  It will be in  Walter Gage Towers  at a rate of 39 CAD per day. Each apartment (Floor plan) has six bedrooms sharing a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge.  Since we have to pay for these rooms in advance students must stay for the whole period or lose part of their subsidy.
  2. Students who HAVE received a letter of support as in case 1, but want to come for  a longer time should book accommodation for the additional time as described in case 3.
  3. Students who have not received a letter as in case 1 should arrange their own accommodations through UBC Conferences and Accommodation at

They offer two types or economy hotel room for students:

Standard Single — A private bedroom in a 6 bedroom apartment. Rooms do not have phone service or televisions. (Pay phone in lobby; messages can be left with the Reservations Office or Front Desk staff.)

Premium Single — Single occupancy bedroom in a 4 bedroom apartment. Telephones in all bedrooms, television in lounge area.
