About Me

Welcome to my home page. My name is Carmen Bruni and I am a third year mathematics PhD student working in number theory under the supervision of Professor Michael Bennett. In particular, I am interested in Diophantine equations and their solvability over the rationals.

I came to UBC in 2010 after a five year period with the University of Waterloo where I obtained a BMATH double majoring in pure mathematics and computer science and a MMath in pure mathematics. During my Masters, I studied the Riemann Roch theorem for algebraic curves under the supervision of Professor David McKinnon. Previous to this, I spent the summer of 2009 as a USRA student of Professor David M. R. Jackson where I studied knot theory.

Outside the classroom, I've been playing guitar for as long as I can remember ranging from classical music to heavy metal. I am an avid games player with a fondness for card games. I am also a big sports fan with my two favourites being football and hockey.

Here is a copy of my CV. This is up to date as of December 31st, 2012.
