Funding/scholarship opportunities

Below are several funding/scholarship opportunities. The majority are for US institutions, but the Procter and Gamble opportunity accepts applications from higher ed institutions worldwide.

Oracle Corporation Grants for Information Technology Training

At the annual technology conference of the League for Innovation in the Community College, Oracle Corporation announced that it will offer $50-million worth of software, technical support and curricular materials to 50 colleges and universities in an effort to increase the number of people trained in information technology. Every institution listed in the U.S. Higher Education Publications Inc. Directory is eligible for the Oracle Academic Initiative and Academic Alliance Programs. Gifts In Kind International Computer Software

Gifts In Kind International offers Lotus computer software to organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Three copies of any product per organization, per calendar year are offered. There is no deadline for applications. Karla Scherer Foundation Scholarships

The Karla Scherer Foundation provides scholarships for women pursuing business careers with a focus on finance or economics. There is no application deadline. University Exploratory Research Program

Procter & Gamble is sponsoring a University Exploratory Research Program, designed to fund research that might not be funded by other sources because of its speculative nature. Proposals should be for research in emerging areas of chemistry, the biological sciences, chemical engineering or process technology. Any academic institution worldwide that confers the doctorate degree is qualified to submit a proposal. Grants are for $50,000 annually for up to three years.
