Call for Judges

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, in recent years, the student program has become a major component of our annual meetings. Our support, as a section, for the activities of our undergraduates in relation to our teaching and research is a vital part of what we do as mathematicians and educators. The program committee is looking for faculty who are planning on attending the spring meeting at Central Washington University, April 3-4, to volunteer to be judges for a student poster session or the student paper sessions.

A judge will be responsible either reviewing all of the posters in the poster session, or attending a number of the student talks. A rubric, based on the JMM poster session rubric, will be used. Judges will caucus after the end of the session(s) to decided the winners. (There are book prizes for winner and runner-up among student papers, and a winner among the posters.) I'm looking for 2-3 judges for the poster session and 5-6 judges for the student talks.

Please contact me if you are interested participating as a judge, or have further questions.
