Part II - Simple Wave Motion in 1D
Simple wave motion in one dimension means that the particle is constrained to move along a line,
instead of moving in other space.
Basic Parameters
A fundamental equation consists on four parameters - A, c, , .
A - amplitude of the wave
c - the velocity of the wave
- the radian frequency of the wave
- the wavelength
Other parameters
Some other parameters are often used also.
T - period of the wave
f - frequency
Wave equation
The general wave equation is y = Acos(2/(x-ct)).
It can also be written in terms of : y = Acos((2/)x - t).
