UBC Mathematics: 2003 William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition


The UBC Putnam Team received an honourable mention for placing 10th among 479 participating universities and colleges in North America in the 2003 William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition, which was held on Dec. 6, 2003. This is the third such ranking in the past 10 years.

A total of 10 UBC students placed in the top 500 individually among the 3615 students who took part in the competition. The members of the UBC team were

Brox placed 29th individually, which is the best individual performance by a UBC student since 1999. Also placing in the top 500 were Koo and Tseng placed in the top 200.
