The required text is Linear Algebra by
Friedberg, Insel and Spence. I have also posted some class notes and a draft copy of a book written by Jim
Carrell on the Vista page for
the class.
Miscellaneous Notes:
Midterms
There will be two midterms held in class. The first midterm will be
Monday, February 23. The second midterm will be held on
Monday, March 16.
Problem Sets
There will be approximately five problem sets that you will be required to turn in
for a grade.
- Problem set 1. Due Friday, January 16.
- Problem set 2. You can turn this one in on February 2. It will count as extra credit over a worksheet that we will start in
class on January 28.
- Worksheet 1 The first in class
worksheet. Turn this in on February 2.
- Worksheet 2 The first in class
worksheet. Turn this in on February 11.
- Worksheet 3 . The third worksheet.
- Worksheet 4 . The fourth worksheet.
- Worksheet 5 . The fifth worksheet. Due March 14.
- Worksheet 6 . The sixth worksheet. Due
March 27.
- Worksheet 7. The seventh worksheet. Due
April 6.
Grade Percentages
Final grades will be computed as follows:
