A Quick Guide to using 3dperc and randWalk Martin Barlow and Richard Liang These 3-dimensional graphics programs were written by Richard Liang, at UBC, who was supported by an NSERC (Canada) Summer Undergraduate Research studentship. They have been tested (and found to work) on various PCs running Linux, and use OpenGL. To install on your system: 1. Download the file '3dprob.tar'. 2. Type 'tar xf 3dprob'; this will create a directory '3dprob/' containing instructions.txt readme.txt and subdirectories perc/ rw/ 3. See the file `instructions.txt' for details of how to install and run the programs. It will probably be necessary to download a number of packages, and install them on your system. 4. The program '3dperc' creates a 3-dimensional bond cluster, and allows you to move it around in various ways to get an idea of its structure. The program 'randWalk' does the same with a 3D Random walk path. August 8, 2003
