- The assessment for this course will consist of
- Final exam
- Two midterms
- THE MIDTERM EXAMS for this course will be common to all
sections of MATH 104/184.
- Midterm 1 will take place on Thursday, October
4, 6:30pm-7:30pm.
- Midterm 2 will take place on Thursday, November 8,
6:30pm-7:30pm.
- Weekly homework assignments
- Students in mathematics 184 will also have weekly workshops.
- You can access webwork through this link.
- Homeworks will be posted on Mondays and due 9 days later on Tuesdays at 8am.
- If a homework is missed for a documented medical
or other reason, it will be ignored.
Note that, original written documentation, for example a doctor's note
or letter from a coach, is required; otherwise, a score of 0 will be
given for the missed homework or midterm.
Permission to write a makeup midterm or reweighting of other course
components may be granted in the following two circumstances:
- (a) prior notice of a valid, documented absence (e.g.
out-of-town varsity athletic commitment) on the scheduled date; or
- (b) notification to the instructor within 72 hours of absence
due to medical condition.
- Please do not eat leftover sushi before your midterms or exam. It
is surprising how many students become ill because of this.

- Your final grade will be computed by the following formula
- 50% Final Exam
- + 30% 2 Midterms
- + 15% Webwork Homework
- + 5%
max{ Midterm mark, Homework mark}.

- 50% Final Exam
- + 25% 2 Midterms
- + 10% Webwork Homework
- + 10% Workshops
- + 5% max{ Midterm mark, Homework mark}.
