UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [TeX IDE]
UBC Mathematics: MathNet FAQ [TeX IDE]
Question: Where can I find software to produce TeX/LaTeX documents?
Author: Thê´ Hà (original), J. Tam (rewritten:2017-09-21)
WinEdt is a popular shareware TeX
IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for the developing TeX/LaTeX
documents. Although old, it is still functional. The non-adware
licensing cost of WinEdt was expensive, so only one copy was installed on
a Windows7 public use PC in each of our common areas: MATH125, MATHX1101
and AUDX135.
Those looking for a cost-free alternative for a TeX/LaTeX IDE
can consider
- TeXnicCenter: (Windows only)
- TeXstudio: (cross platform: Windows, Mac, *nix)
- Google search:
Nowadays, there are a plethora of software
available for helping you edit TeX and TeX
derivative documents, so it may be best to use
a search engine for the latest news of what's
available and suitable for you.
