Groups and Geometry

In this talk we will survey some of the historical connections between groups and geometry, and indicate some current themes and directions, including group actions on 4-dimensional manifolds, non-linear similarity of representations, and geometric group theory.

Refreshments will be served at 2:45 p.m. (WMAX PIMS Lounge).
