Noncommutative Mahler Measure

Abstract: This talk will be a gentle introduction to Mahler measure, its connections with entropy in algebraic dynamics, and how to use dynamics to define and study the Mahler measure of polynomials where the variables do not commute.

Refreshments will be served at 2:45 p.m. (WMAX Bldg. 1st Flr Lounge (PIMS)).
